A live-action remake of the Disney classic. Halle Bailey stars as the mermaid.
This is one of the more successful attempts at these remakes, Bailey in particular is charming and might well be the next big star. It’s a CG nightmare of a film but its vivid imagery just about distracts you from all the green screen.
The rapping bird should have been left on the cutting room floor.
Another cynical cash grab from Disney, who are becoming experts in the genre now it seems. One supposes that once they run out of films to remake they will just loop round again.
